An empowering initiative by Ladies in the Family Foundation

Cooking for Inclusion is an inclusive program targeted at black girls between the ages of 12-24. Join us for this 6-month program (monthly gatherings) where participants from diverse backgrounds will bond, learn, and grow through the joys of cooking cuisines from across the African and Caribbean diaspora.
In addition to cooking, participants will have an active role in planning and delivering activities, empowering them to shape their own journey. Themes of activities include basics of food photography, grocery shopping, visits to the farmers' market, food sampling, and budgeting.
We also provide access to vital resources, including mental health support and various youth services, to build a strong social support system.

All sessions, unless otherwise communicated will take place at the YWCA.

Important Information

  • Registration Fee: Participants will pay a refundable deposit of $50 per week upon registration. This deposit will be refunded at the end of the program.The $50 fee covers the entire cohort from July to December 2024. Parents of the participants will receive a $50 refund when they attend at least 4 out of the 6 sessions, including the farmers market. The refundable deposit is per participant, not per family.
  • Limited Capacity: To ensure a quality experience for all participants, we can accommodate only 30 participants. Register early to secure your spot!
